Marlow & sons (New American)

funny thing, i heard about this restaurant from a fashion website which was introducing the cafe sells it's in house made handbag. The owner owns total 3 stores in the same neighborhood.
Marlow & daughter which is the butcher shop, Diner a causal restaurant and Marlow & sons, a cafe bar. Since they have their own farm and butcher shop, in the front room of Marlow & son, you will find couple handbags hanging on the shelves which was made of their own farm raise cow hide, isn't it awesome? we eat the meat and also make a good use out of it. :)

the room is set in dark low light atmosphere,  before i got a better camera, it's really difficult for me to take good picture under this dark lighting environment. sorry~~~

let me describe the food instead, 3 of us ordered the following
1 bottle of house red wine $26

Appetizers
  • 1/2 dozen oyster ($2.75 each)
  • chicken liver pate (creamy slightly garlic tasty chicken liver spread on toast, with pickle on the side, yummm~~ $12.50)
  • mix green salad w cream dressing (including fennels, radicchio top w blue cheese flavor dressing, simple, tasty and not to heavy $12)
  • rabbit terrine (i am not a rabbit eater, but the terrine is creamy and smooth, totally love it. $16)
Entrees
  • hake (pan seared hake w pinto beans sauteed with kale) i really enjoy this dish, perfect combination for the fish $23
  • brick chicken (it seems a very popular dish, but i think it was just okay, maybe because i don't usually like chicken?) $22

overall the food was amazing, and we ended with it's signature chocolate tart with dash of salt... recommend to share, because it's huge and a bit heavy... :p

it's a bit pricy for brooklyn casual dinning... we end up spent abt $60 each including tips, maybe the living cost in brooklyn has already gone up that i wasn't really aware of...:( )
